Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), was recently seen using Samsung Electronics’ latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8. This continues his trend of using Samsung’s foldable devices, following his previous use of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Industry sources reported on Tuesday that Huang participated in a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday during the All In Summit in Los Angeles.
During the call, Huang unfolded his smartphone and switched to speakerphone, displaying the screen to attendees. This revealed his use of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which showed President Trump on the display.
This isn’t the first time Huang has been spotted with a Samsung foldable phone. In May, he was seen using the Galaxy Z Fold 7 during President Trump’s China visit.
That device was reportedly a gift from Lee Jae Yong, Samsung Electronics’ chairman, to Huang. NVIDIA confirmed that the smartphone Huang used was indeed the one he received from Lee.
However, it’s unclear how Huang acquired or received the Galaxy Z Fold 8 that was recently observed.
The phone call with President Trump, which led to the revelation of Huang’s smartphone, also included discussions about artificial intelligence (AI).
President Trump asserted that robots will not take over the world, and neither will AI. This is all a hoax, dismissing concerns about AI risks.
He further stated that AI is more significant than the internet, emphasizing that the U.S. must not lag behind China in the AI race.
Huang concurred, responding that it is correct, and that it won’t let that happen.
