Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, a line of foldable smartphones, has experienced a significant uptick in sales across European markets. In the nine weeks following its release, sales jumped 45% compared to the same period last year. Concurrently, online searches for Samsung’s foldable devices surged by as much as 460%.
Samsung Electronics reported on Friday that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra saw a 45% year-over-year increase in European sales during the nine-week period following their August 7 launch.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is designed with versatility in mind. Users can check information on the cover display when the device is folded, and enjoy an expansive screen for videos, reading, and gaming when unfolded. Samsung attributes the rising sales to European consumers’ appreciation for this adaptability.
The surge in online interest mirrors the sales trend. Samsung noted that searches for their foldable smartphones in key European markets rose by over 260% in September. The week of September 6-12 saw an especially dramatic spike, with search volume soaring by 460%.
The Galaxy Z8 series comprises three models: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. These devices incorporate next-generation Galaxy AI features, enhancing productivity, content creation, and communication capabilities on their large displays.
