On Monday, Korean Air was crowned Airline of the Year by Airline Ratings, a prestigious Australian aviation and travel publication. Airline Ratings assesses over 350 global carriers annually, considering factors such as safety ratings, passenger feedback, and incidents to identify top-performing airlines.

In addition to this accolade, Korean Air clinched the World’s Best Economy Class Airline title and secured the 8th spot among the Top 25 Safest Airlines worldwide.

The airline garnered praise for its generous economy-class legroom compared to competitors and its commitment to enhancing flight safety by acquiring cutting-edge aircraft like the Boeing B787-10 and Airbus A350-900.

Sharon Peterson, CEO of Airline Ratings, explained that Korean Air’s successful merger with Asiana Airlines, underpinned by robust financial health and impressive performance, played a key role in its selection as the airline of the year.
