The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russian Federation sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of liberation.

On August 17, North Korea’s official party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published Chairman Gennady Zyuganov’s congratulatory message—originally sent on August 15—on page 2. Zyuganov remarked that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and Russia’s patriotic left-wing forces deeply appreciate the principled stance of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in supporting Russia’s special military operation.

He expressed sincere gratitude for North Korea’s assistance in liberating Kursk, adding that it will never forget the heroic deeds of the brave Korean soldiers who shed blood for a just world and their shared freedom.

The front page featured Kim’s Liberation Day speech, highlighting the phrase, yesterday led to today, and when today shines, history shines, thereby encouraging loyalty and patriotism toward the General Secretary.

On page 3, an article titled, Let’s Thoroughly Eradicate Chronic Diseases, warned that a consistently dreamy and passive approach to tasks can lead to chronic issues. It emphasized that failing to correct this attitude promptly may result in apathy, complacency, and eventually serious challenges to progress.

Page 4 called for meticulous preparations for the autumn harvest, stating that this is crucial for successfully concluding this year’s agricultural efforts. The newspaper underscored the importance of taking high responsibility to ensure no detail is overlooked.

The same page also stressed the significance of science and technology, asserting that when all sectors and units rely on and continually enhance their scientific and technological capabilities, they can successfully fulfill their economic tasks.

Page 5 reported that over 40 days have passed since the Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Zone began operations, noting a growing interest in the world-class coastal tourism city and marine park. It also mentioned that 17 new items have been registered as part of national and local intangible cultural heritage.

Page 6 promoted the Nampo City Class Education Hall as a newly established anti-imperialist educational venue, designed to instill the principles of class struggle in workers and youth and to ignite a spirit of resolve. The same page reported that Russian social organizations held a celebratory gathering at the Veterans’ Alliance headquarters on August 12 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation.
