Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un recently toured a newly operational missile production facility at a key military industrial complex to assess its manufacturing capabilities.

According to the official party newspaper Rodong Sinmun, on August 31, Kim visited the new comprehensive missile production line at a crucial defense industrial site. During this visit, he gathered insights into the current state and future prospects of the nation’s missile production capacity. The precise location of the military industrial complex was not disclosed for security reasons.

Kim emphasized that the expansion of missile production capabilities, as outlined in the 8th Party Congress, has been successfully completed this year – the final year of the five-year plan. He noted that series production of various missiles has commenced, stating that this represents a critical strategic achievement in the defense development plan within the military industrial sector.

During his visit, Kim closely examined the newly designed automated missile production process, which utilizes a conveyor belt system. The Supreme Leader reportedly expressed satisfaction after being briefed on how the automated system ensures high productivity and maintains product quality through specialized precision processing, measurement, and assembly equipment integrated from material preparation to component fabrication.

Kim further declared that the establishment of this modernized production process, capable of meeting the projected needs of the missile forces, provides a solid foundation for significantly enhancing the national missile production capacity and increasing the combat readiness of key missile units as planned.

During the visit, Kim approved three new projections for missile production capabilities along with their corresponding defense budget allocations.

Accompanying the Supreme Leader were high-ranking officials including Party Secretary Jo Chun Ryong, First Deputy Minister Kim Jong Sik, Director of the Missile Bureau Jang Chang-ha, as well as managers from major missile production facilities and members of the Permanent Committee for the Modernization of the Defense Industry.
