A Chinese man, in a heavily intoxicated state, assaulted three South Koreans in succession, stole a car, and caused a hit-and-run accident.

On Monday, JTBC’s Scandal Supervisor reported on a recent series of crimes that occurred in Seoul’s Gangseo District.

The suspect, identified as Mr. A, a Chinese national in his 50s, committed an astonishing nine offenses in the Gangseo area—including assault, home invasion, property damage, grand theft auto, driving without a license, drunk driving, and fleeing in violation of the relevant statute.

According to law enforcement, on September 11 at approximately 1:50 p.m., Mr. A assaulted a female restaurant employee in her 50s in Gangseo District. He then proceeded to a nearby residential complex, where he attacked a man in his 20s before assaulting a third victim—a man in his 40s—who was standing on the street.

Subsequently, Mr. A stole a vehicle that had been left running in front of a convenience store. After driving about 500 meters (about 1,640 feet), he caused a four-vehicle pile-up.

Following the collision, Mr. A fled the scene but was apprehended by police at 2:55 p.m. the same day in a market located in Seoul’s Yangcheon District.

The victims were all unrelated to one another, and Mr. A was heavily intoxicated during the incidents.

During police interrogation, Mr. A reportedly denied all charges, claiming he had no recollection of the events due to extreme intoxication. Law enforcement has detained Mr. A and is conducting a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding these incidents.
