As the 9th Workers’ Party Congress approaches, North Korea is emphasizing national supremacy to bolster patriotism and loyalty among its citizens.
The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, declared on its front page on Wednesday that its dignified national flag today embodies the immense pride in our socialist homeland being the world’s finest. It flies ever higher in the lives, rich with creativity and labor, propelled by the burning determination of millions to build our nation into the world’s most envied superpower.
The paper stated that the national flag, proudly waving across the land, further ignites the revolutionary spirit and patriotism of the entire populace as we boldly march toward the 9th Party Congress.
Page 2 reported on a photo exhibition at the People’s Culture Palace titled, The Magnificent Wonsan Galma Coastal Tourist Zone, Emerging in the Great Era of Kim Jong Un. Another article revisited Kim Jong Un’s 2014 visit to the Wonsan Shoe Factory and his 2016 tour of the Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory, stressing that true domestic production is achieved only when quality meets international standards.
The third page covered the visit of Laotian Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith to North Korea. An article headlined, Not Proportional to Rank, emphasized that political awareness doesn’t correlate with years of service or position. It urged all officials to internalize this concept and redouble efforts to cultivate the qualities befitting revolutionary leaders.
Page 4 announced the conclusion of the 12th Pyongyang Musical Instrument Exhibition on Tuesday at the Pyongyang International Culture Center. The 27th National Sports Science and Technology Exhibition and the 2025 National Sports Teaching Methods Conference also wrapped up on Tuesday at the Science and Technology Center.
The fifth page highlighted the successful modernization of the North Chung County Fruit Processing Plant. It also reported a 1.6-fold increase in subscribers to Golden Fruit, an agricultural science and technology service program, compared to the previous year.
Page 6 featured a story about a 50-year-old worker without higher education who earned a master’s degree and is now respected as a talented individual approaching 70. The paper claimed that this is another clear testament to the superiority of our unique socialist system.
