
North Korea has heavily promoted the completion ceremony of a local industrial factory in Kilju County, North Hamgyong Province, which was finished in less than a year after breaking ground.
The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on its front page on Wednesday that the completion ceremony for the Kilju County local industrial factory took place on Tuesday as part of the Local Development 20X10 Policy. According to the report, Workers’ Party Secretary Ri Il Hwan said during the event that the completion of local industrial factories in 40 cities and counties over the past two years demonstrated what he described as the effectiveness of the party’s policies.
After the ceremony, attendees toured various parts of the newly constructed factory. The newspaper reported that participants expressed excitement upon seeing the production processes and multiple products of the food, clothing, and daily necessities factories, which it said had been modernized, scientific, and digitalized to a high level in less than a year since construction began.
On page two, an article titled “The Starting Point and Direction of Our Party’s Activities” emphasized that the demands and interests of the people form the foundation and starting point of all party policies and their implementation. It said that realizing the people’s rights and aspirations serves as the guiding principle of all party activities. The newspaper added that, in efforts to improve people’s welfare, only progress and innovation should prevail, describing this as both the goal and method of the Workers’ Party of Korea in providing the people with a worry-free and civilized life as quickly as possible.
On page three, the newspaper marked the 34th anniversary of Kim Jong Il’s appointment as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. It described the day as a meaningful occasion commemorating his elevation to the highest post in the country’s revolutionary armed forces. It said that, under his guidance, which provided strategies, tactics, and methods, the Korean People’s Army strengthened and developed into what it called an invincible revolutionary force.
On page four, the paper stressed the importance of trust in and loyalty to the party, noting that when party policies align with the people’s sentiments, they generate unprecedented strength. An article titled “Valuing Lessons More Than Achievements” advised that timely lessons can be learned through continuous study of party policies, close examination of one’s work and reality, and the cultivation of habits of self-reflection and criticism.
Page five reported that workers at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex completed this year’s production plans ahead of schedule, increasing fertilizer output by tens of thousands of tons. It also said that the Ryongsong Machine Complex developed a five-axis machining center using its own technology, explaining that the equipment is a CNC (computer numerical control) machine tool with multiple moving axes and a main axis that can precisely process complex equipment.
On page six, the newspaper called on citizens to uphold a spirit of lawfulness, emphasizing that all citizens should regularly study the country’s laws and regulations and establish a revolutionary mindset by acting and living according to established order at all times and in all places.
