North Korea has been showcasing its achievements in the rural economy over the past five years, emphasizing Kim Jong Un’s dedication to serving the people. On Monday, the party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published the third installment of a series titled, A Great New History of Socialist Rural Construction, on its front page.
The newspaper reported that seed revolution, double cropping, scientific farming, and mechanized agriculture have firmly established themselves as components driving real transformation in agricultural production. It also noted improved capabilities in responding to natural disasters that previously hindered farming, opening up prospects for fully resolving the nation’s food security issues.
The paper proclaimed that the remarkable progress made in just five years in strengthening the foundation of agricultural production is a direct result of the wise leadership and tireless dedication of their esteemed General Secretary. These achievements, it claimed, demonstrate the ongoing transformation of rural areas towards material prosperity.
On page 2, an article titled, Solemn Pledge, emphasized the significance of the upcoming 9th Party Congress. It reaffirmed unwavering support for the General Secretary, describing him as the embodiment of the party and nation’s dignity, and the guardian of the people’s fate and happiness.
The third page highlighted that hundreds of workers at the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Factory have surpassed their two-year production targets. The paper noted that for these workers, achieving 150% of daily quotas is considered insufficient. They believe that only by reaching 200% can they truly honor the Party Congress, spurring a vigorous campaign of high expectations and increased productivity.
Page 4 stressed the importance of instilling patriotism in future generations. The article stated that while blood is inherited naturally, patriotic spirit must be actively cultivated. It emphasized that passing on this spirit to future generations is the most crucial duty of all citizens and generations in the country.
The fifth page showcased the operation of a renewable energy power plant, using the Geumsanpo fish sauce processing factory as an example. It reported the construction of a wind and solar power plant on Nungmukdo Island, boasting over 11,300 solar panels. An accompanying article titled, Boldness is Needed in Introducing Advanced Farming Techniques, urged for courage rooted in scientific and technological trust when adopting modern agricultural methods.
The sixth page reported on public sports activities held nationwide to mark the first Sports Day of the new year. An article titled, Let’s Ensure the Health of the People Through Skill, emphasized the need for medical professionals to continuously expand their expertise and knowledge base.
