Kolmar BNH, a leading health supplement ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), announced on Wednesday that it has become the first in its industry to obtain the Global HACCP certification, newly introduced by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

Both the Sejong Plant 3 and Eumseong Plant simultaneously passed the rigorous assessment, officially recognizing their food safety management systems as meeting global standards.

Global HACCP is an enhanced certification system that builds upon the existing HACCP by incorporating the latest standards from the Codex Alimentarius Commission and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

This comprehensive system is designed to evaluate the entire organization’s food safety protocols, including food defense, fraud prevention, and safety culture. It notably strengthens overall management practices to align with international benchmarks, particularly in areas such as production facility security, access control, and safeguarding against raw material adulteration.

The Sejong Plant 3 boasts cutting-edge manufacturing facilities with a smart production system. It leads the industry with an impressive annual production capacity of 1.8 billion tablets and 450 million powder sticks.

Leveraging eco-friendly automated equipment, the plant has significantly improved production efficiency and consistency in quality. Its operations, from equipment to processes and hygiene, adhere to international standards and effectively implement the stringent quality and hygiene management systems required by Global HACCP.

The Eumseong Plant serves as a versatile production hub, manufacturing a wide range of products including liquids, soft capsules, and jellies. Its global-level food safety management capabilities are underscored by consecutive awards at the national quality improvement competition.

With this Global HACCP certification, Kolmar BNH aims to bolster its proactive quality risk management systems and extend its global-standard food safety processes across all its facilities.

A spokesperson for Kolmar BNH said that earning Global HACCP certification represents a major milestone in raising the company’s production-site food safety management to international standards. The spokesperson added that Kolmar BNH remains committed to strengthening its food safety culture through ongoing operational improvements.
