The National Security Office of the Blue House has classified North Korea’s launch of a ballistic missile into the East Sea as a provocative act violating United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions and called for its immediate cessation.

Following confirmation of the missile launch, the National Security Office swiftly convened an Emergency Security Situation Review Meeting, attended by officials from the Department of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other relevant agencies. During this high-level gathering, the situation was thoroughly analyzed, its potential impact on national security assessed, and necessary directives were issued to maintain readiness across all relevant departments.

The National Security Office strongly emphasized that this latest ballistic missile launch by North Korea constitutes a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions and demanded an immediate halt to such provocative actions.

Furthermore, the National Security Office promptly briefed President Lee Jae Myung on the details of North Korea’s ballistic missile launch and the measures taken in response.
