American women’s ice hockey team captain Hilary Knight and U.S. speedskating star Brittany Bowe got engaged in Italy during the 2026 Milano-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics.
Knight shared a heartwarming video on her social media on Thursday, capturing the moment she proposed to Bowe with a ring.
The touching footage shows Knight approaching Bowe, dropping to one knee, and presenting the ring. Bowe nodded in acceptance, and Knight slipped the ring onto Bowe’s left ring finger, sealing their commitment.

The couple, who first crossed paths at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, have announced that this Olympic Games will mark their final appearance on the world’s biggest sporting stage.
Knight, a powerhouse who has led Team USA to an impressive 10 world championship titles, is competing in her record-breaking fifth Olympics. She holds the distinction of most Olympic appearances among U.S. women’s ice hockey players. Knight is set to chase gold in the highly anticipated final against Canada on Tuesday.
Bowe, who clinched bronze in the team pursuit at the 2018 PyeongChang Games and in the women’s 1000m at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, is still in pursuit of her first medal at these Games.
After narrowly missing the podium with fourth-place finishes in both the women’s 1000m and team pursuit events, Bowe will make her final bid for glory in the women’s 1500m on February 21.
