The National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee will convene a plenary session on the 6th to conduct an urgent inquiry into the U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

Kim Geon, the opposition party’s secretary of the committee and a member of the People Power Party, confirmed in a phone call with News1 on Tuesday that the ruling and opposition party secretaries have agreed to hold a full meeting on upcoming Friday morning to address these pressing issues.

The inquiry is expected to cover not only the situation surrounding the airstrikes in Iran but also other diplomatic and unification-related topics, including the 9th Congress of North Korea’s Workers’ Party.

Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and Unification Minister Chung Dong-young are scheduled to attend the inquiry.
