HD Construction Equipment made waves at North America’s premier construction machinery expo with an engaging event featuring electric excavators, aiming to bolster its market presence.

The company announced on Wednesday that it will host the Operator Challenge at CONEXPO 2026, scheduled from March 3 to 7 in Las Vegas.

This three-day event at the Hyundai brand booth invites attendees to test their skills by operating the new HX19E mini electric excavator, challenging them to swiftly maneuver three balls into designated holes.

Daily champions will be rewarded with a 1,000 USD prize. To further captivate the audience, the company has arranged demonstrations by renowned construction equipment influencers.

The featured HX19E boasts a best-in-class 40 kWh battery, enabling over 10 hours of continuous operation. It matches the performance of traditional combustion engines while producing zero noise and emissions, positioning it as a strong contender in the increasingly eco-conscious North American market.

Market Research Future projects that the U.S. compact electric construction equipment sector will expand from 9.16 billion USD in 2025 to a staggering 41.64 billion USD by 2035.

At the expo, HD Construction Equipment is showcasing both its Hyundai and Develon brands, unveiling nine next-generation models ranging from 23 to 40 tons for the first time to North American buyers.

The company is also demonstrating its technological prowess through remote-controlled wheel loader experiences and presentations of its autonomous solution, REAL-X.

A spokesperson for HD Construction Equipment explained that they’ve designed this event to give visitors hands-on experience with the products, allowing them to verify performance firsthand. They’re set to accelerate the North American market strategy, spearheaded by the mini electric excavator and next-generation Develon models.
