Digital healthcare platform company Carelabs said on April 22 that it has upgraded key features of its integrated cancer care journey support platform “HealO,” enhancing users’ information search experience from diagnosis to treatment and recovery.

HealO is a service launched in August 2025 to address information gaps experienced by patients and caregivers outside hospitals, from the moment of cancer diagnosis through treatment and recovery. It provides information across the entire cancer care journey, including hospital search, treatment details and convalescent hospital options.

The latest upgrade focuses on more seamlessly connecting information search across the entire cancer treatment journey. The process is divided into three stages — diagnosis, treatment and recovery — with enhanced features tailored to each stage.

In the diagnosis stage, information needed to select hospitals and medical professionals has been upgraded. The “Find a Specialist” function for searching cancer hospitals now includes newly added “AI paper summaries” and a “doctor selection guide,” enabling users to quickly understand cancer-related information and identify criteria for choosing medical professionals suited to their individual situations.

In the treatment stage, the platform has strengthened functions that address frequently asked questions outside the clinical setting, such as managing chemotherapy side effects and daily life precautions. Previously, the service operated primarily on a “doctor response” model, in which AI generated draft answers that were then reviewed by HealO-affiliated medical staff. The update separates “doctor response” and “AI response” functions, allowing users to choose based on their needs.

The newly added “convalescent hospital search” feature expands the service beyond treatment to include recovery and rehabilitation. It aims to bridge information gaps after treatment and complete a unified information search journey covering the entire course of care.

Carelabs CEO Lee Min-kyung said, “The key focus of this upgrade is to further strengthen the user’s information search journey so that patients and caregivers can accurately find the information they need at each stage, from diagnosis to treatment and recovery,” adding, “We will continue to develop the platform into one that supports critical decision-making throughout the treatment journey based on more reliable information.”
