Digital healthcare firm ezCaretech is rapidly evolving into an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered healthcare platform company, with its AI Native HIS at the forefront of this transformation.
AI Native HIS is a hospital information system (HIS) that integrates medical AI, extending beyond basic clinical support to enhance actual workflows in treatment, nursing, monitoring, alerts, and responses. This system allows healthcare professionals to work in an intelligent medical environment where AI and HIS seamlessly collaborate.
On Tuesday, ezCaretech announced a partnership with Huinno, a leader in AI-based wearable healthcare technology. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop and market HIS-based medical AI services.
Their collaboration aims to create innovative clinical decision support tools that leverage HIS and AI for practical application in healthcare settings.
ezCaretech plans to incorporate Huino’s AI-driven electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis and predictive health solutions, Memo Q and Memo Picasso, into its flagship medical information platforms, BESTCare 2.0 and EDGE&NEXT. The company will first pilot these services in domestic intensive care units before expanding to general wards and international hospitals.
In October, ezCaretech will showcase its AI Native HIS model at the Global Health Exhibition (GHE) in Saudi Arabia. The company will lead a Team Korea consortium, including Huino and other domestic healthcare firms, in a joint exhibition. This follows last year’s successful GHE, where ezCaretech helped Team Korea companies secure valuable leads in the Middle Eastern market.
ezCaretech has been strategically expanding its platform ecosystem in recent years, integrating medical AI, data, and medical devices. The partnership with Huino aligns with this strategy, aiming to enhance AI Native HIS services and establish a sustainable revenue stream.
ezCaretech Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hong Woo-sun stated that it’s advancing the AI Native HIS technology and pivoting towards a platform-centric business model. It’ll continue partnering with diverse AI, data, and healthcare companies to develop practical AI services for medical environments and establish themselves as a global leader in digital healthcare platforms.
Founded in 2001 as a spin-off from Seoul National University Hospital’s information technology (IT) department, ezCaretech now boasts the country’s largest team of HIS specialists, with 430 to 450 experts. The company is expanding its market share through four key divisions: Domestic Business, Overseas Business, Business Support (SI), and Cloud, all of which are engaged in large-scale projects.
