BOYNEXTDOOR’s debut album has soared to the top of Japan’s prestigious Oricon weekly album chart.

Oricon’s announcement on Tuesday revealed that BOYNEXTDOOR’s first full-length album, HOME, made a stunning debut, selling approximately 159,000 copies in its first week of release in Japan. The six-member group, consisting of Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak, clinched the coveted number one spot on the Weekly Album Ranking.

This achievement adds to BOYNEXTDOOR’s impressive track record, with all five of their mini-albums and two Japanese singles having previously secured positions within the top three of the Weekly Album Ranking. Notably, their mini-albums HOW?, 19.99, and No Genre, along with this latest release, have all claimed the chart’s summit.

HOME serves as a heartfelt chronicle of BOYNEXTDOOR’s journey, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into the emotions and memories that have shaped the group. The album weaves together a tapestry of experiences, from their trainee days to the present, resulting in a deeply personal and autobiographical work. In a significant milestone, all members contributed to the songwriting process for the first time, showcasing their growth as artists.

The album’s title track, “VIRAL”, encapsulates the group’s aspiration for their music to reach an ever-expanding audience. Members Jaehyun and Woonhak are credited on the track, with acclaimed producer Zico lending his expertise to the lyrics and composition.

BOYNEXTDOOR, who burst onto the K-pop scene in May 2023, has quickly become a fan favorite. The sextet has captured hearts with their diverse discography, including hits like “But Sometimes,” “Earth, Wind & Fire,” “IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU,” “I Feel Good,” and “Hollywood Action”.
