The romantic thriller The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, is set to hit theaters in South Korea this September.

Plus M Entertainment, the film’s distributor, made the announcement on Monday and unveiled the movie’s first poster. The Drama follows a blissful couple on the verge of tying the knot, whose perfect wedding week spirals into unexpected chaos when they reveal long-buried secrets from their past.

Studio A24, known for global hits like Backroom and Marty Supreme, is backing this highly anticipated 2026 release. During its North American debut in April, the film outperformed A24’s previous blockbusters Hereditary and Everything Everywhere All at Once, securing the studio’s third-highest opening weekend. With a global box office haul of approximately 200 billion KRW (about 136 million USD), it’s captivated both industry insiders and moviegoers alike. Critics are hailing it as a triumph in both artistic merit and mainstream appeal within its genre.

The film’s star power is undeniable, featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, Hollywood’s hottest on-screen duo of the year. Their chemistry, already proven in The Drama, Odyssey, and the upcoming Dune: Part 3, is set to sizzle once again. Zendaya portrays Emma, a bride-to-be whose past comes back to haunt her, while Pattinson plays Charlie, her fiancé, whose world is turned upside down by these revelations.

At the helm is Christopher Bogli, a director celebrated for his innovative storytelling and unique visual style. Adding to the film’s pedigree is producer Ari Aster, the mind behind cult favorites Hereditary and Midsommar. Together, they’ve crafted a genre-defying experience that masquerades as a light-hearted romantic comedy but delves deep into the complexities of human relationships through the lens of a thriller. This multi-layered approach has earned the film widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike.

The newly released poster for The Drama is a visual tease, featuring Emma, her left ring finger adorned with a wedding band, enveloped in Charlie’s embrace. The couple’s intense gaze directly at the viewer hints at the film’s underlying tension.

In related news, fans of Pattinson and Zendaya can catch them in Odyssey, slated for release on August 5. This epic retelling follows the legendary hero Odysseus (Matt Damon) as he embarks on a perilous journey home to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) in the wake of the decade-long Trojan War.
