Genesis, the premium brand of Hyundai Motor Group, has unveiled images from Flesh Impact, a film commemorating Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday, on Wednesday.

The automaker has been spotlighting Monroe’s life, drawing parallels between her pursuit of dreams despite adversity and Genesis’s own journey to becoming a global luxury brand through relentless innovation.

Since June, the Manifesting Marilyn exhibition, which offers a fresh perspective on Monroe’s life and artistry, has been running at Genesis House in New York City. Initially slated for a two-month run, the showcase has been extended through September due to overwhelming visitor interest and media buzz.

The film’s title, Flesh Impact, alludes to Monroe’s magnetic presence and aura, promising viewers an immersive experience that brings the screen legend to life.

Collaborating with Authentic Brands Group, which manages Monroe’s estate, the film reimagines the icon as a trailblazer beyond her acting career. Helmed by actor-turned-director Maggie Gyllenhaal, the movie stars Dakota Johnson as young Monroe and Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn as her older self, with Peter Sarsgaard and Sepideh Moafi rounding out the cast.

Gyllenhaal describes the film as a contemporary reinterpretation of Monroe’s legacy, exploring new narratives about the beloved star.

Amy Marentic, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Genesis North America, emphasized that supporting this film underscores Genesis’s dedication to celebrating cultural icons who’ve left an indelible mark on history.

Flesh Impact is set to make its world premiere at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival this September.
