Unbelievable Sale: Shohei Ohtani’s One-of-a-Kind Baseball Card Fetches Over 10 Million USD!

LifestyleUnbelievable Sale: Shohei Ohtani's One-of-a-Kind Baseball Card Fetches Over 10 Million USD!

The world’s only Shohei Ohtani baseball card has sold for an astronomical sum.

ESPN reported on Friday that a collector in Florida pulled the one-of-a-kind Shohei Ohtani card and sold it for over 10 million USD.

The collector obtained the card from a local shop in Boca Raton, Florida. This unique card features two gold Major League Baseball (MLB) logo patches from jerseys worn by Ohtani, who clinched back-to-back Most Valuable Player (MVP) titles in 2024 and 2025.

The patches are from uniforms Ohtani wore during two memorable games: a road game against the Baltimore Orioles on September 8, 2025, where he hit two home runs, and a home game on April 13, 2026, where he also homered.

MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year winners sport gold logo patches on their jerseys the following season.

The lucky collector reportedly sold the card to Matthew Allen, a high-end sports card specialist. Allen confirmed the purchase on social media, stating that it can confirm that it acquired this card for over 10 million USD.

If Allen’s claim is accurate, this Ohtani card now ranks as the third most expensive sports card ever sold.

The record still belongs to a card featuring National Basketball Association (NBA) legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, which fetched 12.932 million USD in August 2025. The second most valuable card is a Mickey Mantle MLB card, sold for 12.6 million USD in August 2022.
