Samsung Electronics announced on Tuesday that it will participate in Gamescom 2026, scheduled to take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 23 to 27 (local time). The tech giant plans to showcase a full-stack gaming experience that seamlessly connects various gaming platforms.
Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming exhibition, attracted a staggering 265,000 visitors last year. This year’s event will feature approximately 1,100 software, hardware, and game content producers, all rallying under the theme Games Spark Excitement for the Future.
Under the slogan #PlaySamsung, the company will unveil a range of innovative products, offering groundbreaking gaming experiences that blur the lines between mobile, personal computer (PC), and console platforms.
The #PlaySamsung campaign encourages users to embrace a unified, connected experience across products and services. It highlights how Samsung’s product ecosystem and AI capabilities can enhance daily life and entertainment, making them more convenient and enjoyable.
Visitors to Samsung’s exhibition space will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in gaming experiences across various platforms. Key products on display include the Odyssey organic light-emitting diode (OLED) G9, the world’s first dual ultra high-definition (UHD) gaming monitor; the high-performance SSD 990 PRO, designed for next-generation gaming; and the Galaxy Z Fold5, which promises to redefine mobile gaming.
The Odyssey OLED G9, launched in May, boasts an innovative Dual Mode feature. This allows gamers to switch between a dual UHD 240Hz ultra-high-resolution mode and a full high-definition (FHD) 240Hz ultra-high refresh rate mode, providing optimal settings for different gaming scenarios.
The monitor is compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies, ensuring visitors can enjoy stunning visuals with unprecedented immersion.
These technologies synchronize the refresh rates of compatible graphics cards and monitors, significantly reducing screen tearing and stuttering in demanding, high-spec games.
At Samsung’s booth, attendees can experience Pearl Abyss’s highly anticipated open-world action-adventure game, Crimson Desert. The game will showcase the Odyssey OLED G9’s ultra-high resolution and HDR True Black 400 capabilities.
Mobile gaming enthusiasts can get hands-on experience with various game genres on cutting-edge devices like the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The global tournament league, #PlayGalaxy Cup World Finals, is set to take place from August 24 to 25. This event will highlight the impressive gaming performance of Galaxy smartphones.
The tournament will feature PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile and kick off with a special match involving globally renowned game influencers. Ten teams, having emerged victorious from regional qualifiers across North America, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, will compete for the championship title.
Throughout the event, attendees can look forward to a diverse array of activities, including competitions featuring popular franchises like the Sonic series and a cosplay catwalk centered around Samsung products.
