HLB Panagene will introduce its proprietary peptide nucleic acid (PNA) technology at a conference in the United States focused on oligonucleotide and peptide therapeutics.

The company said Aug. 12 that it will deliver the opening keynote at Oligonucleotide & Peptide Xchange 2026, scheduled to take place next month in San Francisco.

The presentation, titled “The Overlooked Oligo: Why PNA Deserves a Second Look in Drug Development Pipelines,” will cover PNA’s technical characteristics, its advantages over conventional oligonucleotides, and its potential applications in drug development, including cell and gene therapy (CGT).

The conference brings together drug development researchers and decision-makers from global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to discuss technological and business collaboration opportunities involving oligonucleotide and peptide therapeutics.

HLB Panagene is organizing the presentation in partnership with ChemGenes, its PNA distribution partner in the United States. The company currently supplies PNA products across the U.S. through ChemGenes and plans to use the conference as an opportunity to expand collaboration with local research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

PNA is an artificially synthesized nucleic acid characterized by high binding affinity and stability. HLB Panagene is using the technology as a foundation for expanding its global materials business for drug development.

Jang In-keun, CEO of HLB Panagene, said, “PNA is a material with significant potential for applications across various drug development fields,” adding, “We will continue expanding research and development partnerships and business opportunities in the U.S. and other global markets.”

HLB Panagene currently supplies PNA-based research and diagnostic materials and reagents to biotechnology companies, research institutions and hospitals in more than 50 countries across the U.S., Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Oceania.
