According to the Namdong Police Station in Incheon on the 19th, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency conducted autopsies on the bodies of these cats. They informed local authorities that “the cats had tested positive for feline panleukopenia.”

The Quarantine Headquarters confirmed the viral infection in three of the cats examined, excluding one that was severely decomposed.

Feline panleukopenia, commonly known as feline distemper, is an infectious disease characterized by a significant decrease in all types of white blood cells.

The cats were found deceased on June 4th in an apartment complex located in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon. Residents who regularly cared for the cats reported their deaths.
