The Senior Deputy Representative of the Democratic Party, Kim Yong Min insisted that the prosecutor’s investigation into Yoon Suk Yeol’s wife, Kim Keon Hee, must take place. However, he said he could understand if the summons were private and excluded from the photo line out of respect for the First Lady of South Korea.

On May 13, as the representative hard-liner within the Democratic Party, Kim emphasized on CBS Radio’s Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show that “A summons is necessary,” concerning the report that the prosecution has planned to summon the First Lady regarding the Deutsch Motors stock manipulation case.

Kim argued, “This is because all citizens should be investigated equally before the law and punished equally if necessary.” He pointed out, “In that sense, the summons of the First Lady should also be done equally.”

When the host asked, “So, should everyone be treated equally on the photo line?” Kim responded, “Considering that she is the First Lady, the sitting president’s spouse, the investigation method can be slightly modified.” He indicated that he could understand if the summons were private and excluded from the photo line. However, he demanded an investigation, arguing, “Not summoning at all? Not even conducting a face-to-face investigation contradicts equality.”
