President Yoon Suk Yeol will hold a summit with the Romanian President next week to discuss cooperation between the two countries.

On the afternoon of the 19th, the Presidential Office announced through a press release, “Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis will officially visit Korea from the 22nd to the 25th.”

It added, “During this period, Yoon will meet with Iohannis and discuss strategic cooperation plans between the two countries in defense and nuclear power.”

The summit will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two presidents in approximately nine months.

Yoon and Iohannis previously held a summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, last July on the sidelines of the NATO Summit, where they discussed plans to strengthen practical cooperation.

Even then, Yoon expressed his hope for closer cooperation between the two countries regarding nuclear power, infrastructure development, and defense sectors.
