Austin Butler of Dune: Part Two mentioned “Dune maniacs.”
On the 21st, a press conference for Dune: Part Two (directed by Denis Villeneuve) was held at Conrad Seoul in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. On this day, director Denis Villeneuve, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Stellan Skarsgård attended and shared their stories.
On this day, Stellan Skarsgård said, “I think it’s a global phenomenon, but maybe “Dune maniacs” came about because of Korea’s unique love for movies.”
Following this, Austin Butler responded, “I agree with what those present have said,” and “I think this view of the world can touch people’s hearts worldwide and contains a story that all of humanity can empathize with.”
Austin Butler added, “Wouldn’t it be because of the love for cinema, the experience of sitting in a movie theater and immersing oneself in a vast world?”
He then added, “People might be fascinated by the texture and power of this view of the world,” and praised the Korean movie world, saying, “I think they love our film for that reason because the Korean movie world is world-class.”
Meanwhile, Dune: Part Two is an action blockbuster where Paul (played by Timothée Chalamet), awakened and realizes his abilities, finds a warrior’s fate on a journey for revenge. It will be released in Korea on the 28th.
