At the Busan Mobility Show, Hyundai Motor unveiled the world’s first compact SUV, CASPER Electric.

The CASPER EV debuted at the 2024 Busan Mobility Show held at BEXCO in Busan on June 27, inheriting the existing CASPER’s robust and multifaceted exterior while featuring distinctive pixel graphics unique to Hyundai’s electrified models. Moreover, it features unique product quality, guaranteeing spatial usability, livability, and driving stability. This is achieved through its extended overall length of 9 inches and widened overall width of half an inch compared to the existing internal combustion engine CASPER, making its presence on the road more noticeable.

The turn signal lamp features pixel graphics, catching much attention and showing an iconic design unique to electric vehicles. The circular DRL (Daytime Running Lights) of surface emission completes a futuristic impression.

The front grille features a circuit board-style black grille reminiscent of a circuit board, housing the headlamp, charging door, and front camera, emphasizing the image of the CASPER Electric born from advanced technology. The side features a pixel-shaped wheel design that harmoniously blends with the voluminous fender design and the sturdy body, and a unique robot expression badge engraved on the rear door handle that attracts attention.

In particular, the wheelbase increased by 7 inches compared to the existing model, improving high-speed driving stability and providing more legroom in the second row. To improve space efficiency, the trunk length has been extended by 4 inches, increasing cargo space by 47L from the existing 233L.

The rear also features pixel-design lamps that show consistency with the front, and the simple yet bold surface treatment completes the futuristic image of CASPER Electric.

Hyundai has equipped the CASPER Electric with a 49kWh-grade NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) battery, achieving a single-charge driving distance of up to 196 miles. Moreover, charging from 10% to 80% is possible in 30 minutes, enabling sufficient urban driving.

Exterior colors include the following:

  • Buttercream Yellow Pearl
  • Atlas White
  • Unbleached Ivory
  • Tomboy Khaki
  • Bijarim Khaki Matte
  • Sienna Orange Metallic
  • Aero Silver Matte
  • Dusk Blue Matte
  • Abyss Black Pearl

Depending on the exterior color, a new black two-tone roof option will also be introduced.

The interior color comprises three options:

  • Khaki Brown/Neutro Beige two-tone
  • Gray monotone
  • Black monotone

CASPER Electric plans to start pre-orders for the cruise model in July and then sequentially introduce the base model and cross model.

“We ask for your interest and love for CASPER Electric, which will lead to the popularization of electric vehicles,” said Chung Yoo Seok, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company’s Korea Business Division.
