Hyundai Mobis is set to receive a subsidy of $32 million for the Ohio plant.

On the 11th, the U.S. administration announced a plan to allocate $1.7 billion in grants to support the electrification of 11 automobile and parts factories across the Midwest, including locations in Michigan and Ohio.

The recipients include Hyundai Mobis, General Motors, Harley-Davidson, Volvo, Fiat Chrysler, and ZF. Hyundai Mobis will receive a grant of $32.6 million.

Hyundai Mobis plans to establish a battery assembly plant in Toledo, Ohio. Along with the currently operating plant in the area, this factory is expected to serve as an outpost for supplying parts to American car manufacturers.

Since the mid-2000s, Hyundai Mobis has been operating a factory in Toledo, supplying chassis modules to Stellantis Jeep and others.
