The USS Boxer (LHD-4), a U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship equivalent to a medium-sized aircraft carrier, arrived at the Busan Naval Operations Base in South Korea on August 9.

According to the Republic of Korea Navy, the USS Boxer docked at Busan Port in the afternoon for logistics loading and crew rest.

The 40,532-ton USS Boxer, primarily tasked with supporting large-scale amphibious operations, can carry over 20 F-35B fighter jets. It also accommodates over 2,000 combat troops and over 100 vehicles, including tanks, armored vehicles, towed artillery, and trucks.

South Korean Navy official stated, “With the arrival of the Boxer, we plan to strengthen further mutual visits and exchanges between the U.S. and South Korean navies and reinforce our combined defense posture.”
