Suga’s Scooter Scandal: Police Confirm High Alcohol Level—Details on the Ongoing Investigation

EtcSuga's Scooter Scandal: Police Confirm High Alcohol Level—Details on the Ongoing Investigation

Police announced today that they are coordinating with BTS member Suga (real name Min Yoon Gi) regarding the timing of his summons related to allegations of drunk driving on an electric scooter.

A Seoul Metropolitan Police official stated during a regular press briefing this morning at the Nae-dong headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, that “the date has not yet been specified.”

Suga, who is currently serving as a social service agent, is accused of riding an electric scooter while intoxicated around 11:15 p.m. on the 6th near his residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

When police found Suga after falling from his electric scooter, his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was measured at 0.227%, indicating a high level of intoxication. Suga reportedly told the police that he had only had one beer.

Police have traced Suga’s movements to verify his route and plan to investigate the details of the incident in comparison with Suga’s statements.

In another case, police are investigating professional basketball player Heo Ung, who has been accused of rape and assault by his ex-girlfriend.

The case was initially filed with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul but was transferred to the Yongin West Police Station in Gyeonggi Province and has since been reassigned to the Suseo Police Station in Seoul. The police are currently analyzing materials submitted by the complainant, Heo Ung’s ex-girlfriend, and Heo Ung’s side.

A representative from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency explained, “Heo Ung’s side reported a change of address to the Suseo Police Station for training reasons and other factors. We verified whether this was a formal address change or an actual relocation. The case has now been reassigned to the Suseo Police Station.”

Meanwhile, in the case where the entertainment agency HYBE has filed a complaint against ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, police stated, “We are currently conducting forensic examinations on laptops and tablets submitted by both parties. Once the analysis is complete, we plan to conduct an additional investigation of the accused, Min Hee Jin.”
