EtcTEMPEST Takes the Crown: Double Win at 2024 Brand Awards

The K-pop boy band TEMPEST won two awards at the 2024 Brand of the Year Awards.

TEMPEST was selected as the Best Male Idol Group in the Korea and Vietnam categories at the 2024 Brand of the Year Awards ceremony on September 3.

The Brand of the Year Awards is an event that selects and honors the brands that have shone the brightest each year through large-scale consumer voting. Starting this year, in addition to voting in Korea, they expanded voting to Vietnam, aiming to discover and promote the top brands that have elevated the status of the Korean Wave through their outstanding activities.

TEMPEST previously demonstrated impressive growth by winning in the Male Idol Group (Rookie) and Male Idol Group (Rising Star) categories at the Brand of the Year Awards in 2022 and 2023, respectively. This year, they achieved the remarkable feat of winning in the Male Idol Group category in both Korea and Vietnam.

In March, TEMPEST released their fifth mini-album and actively promoted it. Especially with the title track “Lighthouse,” they won a music show trophy, solidifying their presence as a 4th-generation hot item with their comeback.

TEMPEST is also making strides internationally, solidifying its status as a global hot item. Earlier this year, its pre-debut song “Baddest Behavior” reached 5th place on Japan’s top music site, Line Music, and topped the K-pop daily chart on iTunes in Vietnam. The group recently held its first concert in Vietnam, drawing a passionate response and proving its global popularity.

TEMPEST expressed their gratitude, saying, “We are truly thankful for receiving such an honorable award. We want to dedicate this honor to all the staff who work tirelessly for TEMPEST.”

They continued, “As always, we dedicate this award to iE (the fandom), our constant support and strength, and who we love the most. Winning awards in both South Korea and Vietnam comes with a great sense of responsibility. We promise to continue working hard to grow into a group that brings happiness and comfort to many people.”

Meanwhile, TEMPEST will appear on Mnet’s Road to Kingdom: Ace of Aces, which will air for the first time on September 19.
