South Korean police have decided not to pursue the case against actor Yoo Ah In (real name Um Hong Sik) regarding allegations of same-sex sexual assault, citing insufficient evidence.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced today that they would not move forward with the case against Yoo Ah In, who had been charged with attempted rape as of the 11th. The police explained that this decision was based on “insufficient evidence.”

Earlier, the complainant alleged that he was sexually assaulted by Yoo while sleeping in a detached house in Yongsan on July 14. Reports indicate that other men were present at the scene during the incident.

Yoo’s attorney, Park Jung Hyun’s legal representative, issued an official statement denying the allegations, asserting, “This is not true.” The police investigated with the complainant on July 25 and subsequently summoned Yoo for questioning on August 28.

In a separate case, Yoo was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2 million won (approximately $1,500) in a first-instance ruling on drug use charges on the 3rd, resulting in his immediate incarceration.
