The BBC unveiled its list of the 100 Women of 2024 on Tuesday. The list features women worldwide who have inspired and exerted powerful influence.

Among the honorees was South Korean shooter Kim Ye Ji, who left a strong impression during the Paris Olympics. Her signature charisma and outstanding athletic performance garnered global attention this year.

In July, Kim won a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Olympics held in France, just months after breaking the world record in the women’s 25m pistol category.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, praised her, saying, “She should be cast in an action movie. No acting required!”

CNN lauded Kim Ye Ji for her unbelievably cool and composed demeanor while setting a world record, noting that she had become one of the internet’s most beloved figures.

Following this, her videos spread widely on social media, captivating netizens worldwide with her skill, icy composure, and unbreakable focus.

Also, her custom-made glasses, designed to enhance accuracy, drew considerable curiosity, with many comparing them to something from a science fiction movie.

According to the BBC, Kim is taking a training break to spend time with her six-year-old daughter.

In addition to Kim, another South Korean, Park Soo Bin, was named to the list.

Park co-founded the nonprofit project Stair Smash Club, which collects information on wheelchair-unfriendly routes and locations lacking step-free access in South Korea. As a wheelchair user herself, Park was recognized for her significant contributions to improving accessibility for people with disabilities.
