The South Korean Navy announced on Thursday that it will dispatch a 4,900-ton-class Landing Ship Tank (LST-II) to the International Fleet Review (IFR), which will be held in Benoa, Indonesia, in February.

The International Fleet Review, scheduled for February 15 to 22, will host naval forces from over 30 countries. The South Korean Navy will also participate in a maritime parade alongside 30 vessels from over 10 nations, including the United States, Japan, and Australia.

Upon arrival in Indonesia, ROKS Nojeokbong will engage in public ship tours, onboard receptions, and other events to promote military diplomacy and South Korea’s defense industry (K-Defense).

This marks the first time in about 10 years that the South Korean Navy has sent a warship to an International Fleet Review in Indonesia. The last time was in 2015, when the ROKS Jeonbuk, an Incheon-class frigate, participated in the Review held in Tomini Bay, Indonesia.

Meanwhile, South Korea originally planned to host its own International Fleet Review in Busan this May to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its liberation and the founding of the Navy. However, the event has been postponed to late 2025. The South Korean International Fleet Review was expected to feature over 70 domestic and foreign vessels and 7,000 personnel.
