Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho will appear on JTBC Newsroom ahead of the release of his highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, Mickey 17.

Warner Bros. Korea announced on Friday that the celebrated filmmaker will appear in an interview segment on Newsroom, which will air this Sunday.

Mickey 17 follows the gripping tale of an expendable clone named Mickey, who can be reprinted after death. As the 17th version of Mickey faces a life-threatening situation, a new version—Mickey 18—is unexpectedly printed, triggering a series of unpredictable events. The film marks Bong Joon Ho’s highly anticipated return to the big screen after the massive success of Parasite, which won both the Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or and multiple Academy Awards.

During his appearance on Newsroom, Bong Joon Ho is expected to share exclusive insights into Mickey 17. The director will likely discuss his reaction to the film’s invitation to the prestigious 75th Berlin International Film Festival, the challenges of adapting Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7, his collaboration with lead actor Robert Pattinson, and the social themes explored in the film. Bong Joon Ho’s revelations about Mickey 17 will surely capture the audience’s attention and heighten anticipation for this cinematic event.
