Samsung Electronics announced on Thursday that it will showcase AI-powered home experiences tailored to local consumers’ lifestyles at AWE (Appliance & Electronics World Expo) 2025, China’s largest home appliance exhibition in Shanghai. The event runs through March 23.

Samsung has set up a 1,512-square-meter exhibition space at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, where it will display a range of Bespoke AI appliances and related scenarios that bring its “AI for All” vision to life.

Bespoke AI appliances offer enhanced AI capabilities, leveraging Samsung’s security solution “Knox,” “SmartThings” for device connectivity, and the Bixby AI voice assistant.

Highlighted products include the new Bespoke AI Hybrid refrigerator with a 9-inch screen and the Bespoke All-in-One AI Washer & Dryer Laundry Combo with a 7-inch display, designed to improve AI functionality through integrated screens.

The Bespoke AI Hybrid refrigerator features “AI Vision Inside,” which automatically tracks food items, and “AI Hybrid Cooling,” which combines compressor and Peltier cooling methods for improved energy efficiency.

The refrigerator also boasts an “Auto Open Door” function, activated by a light touch or Bixby voice command. Considering Chinese culinary preferences, it includes a “Dry Box” for low-humidity storage of tea leaves and grains and a “Moisture Box” to keep produce fresh at higher humidity levels.

A “UV Deodorizing Filter” mounted on top of the refrigerator eliminates food odors and sterilizes bacteria using UV LED technology, ensuring more hygienic food storage.

Addressing Chinese consumers’ focus on energy efficiency, the refrigerator achieves the top energy rating and features SmartThings’ AI Energy Saving Mode, which can reduce power consumption by up to 10%.

Samsung also unveiled the “Kitchen Fit Max refrigerator,” tailored for Chinese kitchens. It has a slim 600mm depth and a maximum capacity of 501 liters.

The “Bespoke AI Combo washer-dryer” and “Bespoke Washing Machine” incorporate “AI Custom Wash,” which optimizes cycles based on load weight and soil level, and the “AI Bubble” function for precise detergent usage.

The Bespoke Washing Machine employs Space Max technology, maintaining a compact 550mm width while offering a 12kg capacity.

Other exhibits include the “Bespoke AirDresser,” which rapidly deodorizes and sanitizes clothing with powerful air and steam, and the “Bespoke AI Steam,” an autonomous floor cleaning and mopping solution.

Hwang Tae Hwan, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ DA Division, stated, “Our Bespoke AI appliances with diverse AI functions and integrated screens offer consumers a unique AI experience. We will continue to expand our AI home solutions globally, bringing innovation to everyday life.”
