Apple has started production of the display for its upcoming Apple Watch SE3, which is slated for release later this year.

On Tuesday, 9to5Mac reported, citing display analyst Ross Young, that Apple is gearing up for a new SE model. The company has reportedly begun manufacturing two new display sizes for the device.

Young reveals that the Apple Watch SE3 will sport displays measuring 1.6 inches and 1.8 inches (approximately 4.06cm and 4.57cm). These dimensions closely mirror the 41mm and 45mm variants of the Apple Watch Series 9. While Apple hasn’t officially disclosed screen sizes, the current SE model comes in 40mm and 44mm options.

The Apple Watch SE3 is expected to feature a slightly larger screen while maintaining a more compact display than the Series 10 and Ultra models.

With display production now underway, industry insiders anticipate that Apple will unveil the Watch SE3 alongside the Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 at their September launch event.

Earlier reports suggest that the Apple Watch SE3 will likely retain its aluminum case, though some rumors hint at the possibility of using plastic materials. The device is expected to incorporate the same S9 chipset found in the Apple Watch Series 9, boosting its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities with a four-core neural engine.
