Chery, a Chinese automotive and technology company, has rolled out 220 units of its groundbreaking humanoid robot, AIMOGA, at the Chery International headquarters complex. The firm has ambitious plans to distribute these robots globally in the near future.

At the unveiling ceremony, Zhang Guibing, President of Chery International and chief executive officer (CEO) of the robotics division, highlighted AIMOGA’s integration of Chery’s cutting-edge technologies. These include assisted driving capabilities, an advanced cockpit system, the CheryGPT large language model, and state-of-the-art smart sensors. Leveraging these features, AIMOGA can deliver a range of customer-facing services at 4S dealerships, such as welcoming visitors, providing sales advice, recommending vehicles, and offering guided tours of the facilities. The robot has already been successfully deployed in a 4S store in Malaysia.

Chery has outlined a three-phase strategic roadmap for the implementation of its humanoid robot. The initial phase focuses on deploying AIMOGA in automotive retail environments to spearhead intelligent transformation. The second phase aims to broaden the robot’s application to public service settings, including shopping centers and government offices, to enhance service efficiency and quality. The final phase envisions AIMOGA as an intelligent household companion.

While many global humanoid robot projects in China remain conceptual or limited to small-scale custom production, Chery is pushing forward with the mass production of AIMOGA. This approach will allow for the rapid implementation of their three-phase roadmap.
