Samsung Electronics unveiled its ultra-slim smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, on Tuesday.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, the thinnest device in the Galaxy S series to date, measures just 5.8mm (0.23 inches) in thickness and weighs 163g (5.7 ounces). Samsung explained that despite its slim design, the phone’s durability has been enhanced by incorporating a new ceramic material for mobile devices on the front display, improving resistance to damage and cracks.
Moreover, the company stated that the device features a robust titanium frame and IP68-rated water and dust resistance, ensuring reliable performance in various everyday environments.
The phone is equipped with a 200-megapixel ultra-high-resolution wide-angle camera, enabling Galaxy S25 Ultra-level photography, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens for capturing expansive scenes in a single shot.
All the Galaxy S25 series are supported with AI-based editing features, including notable functions like Audio Eraser and Sketch to Image which allow for the creation of high-quality content.
Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Qualcomm Incorporated, has developed the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy to deliver fast and stable AI performance. The company highlighted enhanced daily usability through features like Now Brief, which provides personalized information summaries, and Now Bar, which displays real-time user activity on the lock screen. They also noted that the Writing Assistant feature simplifies tasks such as text summarization, translation, and image saving after table creation.
The Galaxy S25 Edge will be available in three colors: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Ice Blue. Models with 256GB and 512GB storage are priced at 1,100 USD and 1,219 USD, respectively.
Samsung Electronics plans to officially launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in South Korea on May 23rd, with pre-sales starting tomorrow and running until the 20th.
Roh Tae-Moon, acting head of Samsung’s DX division, emphasized that the Galaxy S25 Edge goes beyond the limits of ultra-slim technology, innovating the user experience. He stressed that it represents a new category in the industry, achieving a perfect balance between design and engineering craftsmanship.
