North Korea is intensifying its ideological reinforcement through propaganda to achieve economic goals in this final year of the five-year national development plan established during the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party in 2021.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Sunday that dynamic slogans, banners, and propaganda posters embodying the ideology and spirit of the 12th plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee’s 8th term have been prominently displayed across the country. These materials are powerfully motivating millions of people to achieve the grand goals set for this final year of the five-year plan.

The newspaper highlighted various propaganda slogans and banners displayed on red signs throughout the country, including “Increased Production Struggle,” “Savings Movement,” “Self-Reliance for Strength,” and “Comprehensive Revival of the National Economy.”

It emphasized that these propaganda materials have significantly accelerated the nation’s progress under the leadership of the Party Central Committee. The newspaper claimed that these efforts are enhancing the loyalty and patriotic fervor of the entire population, inspiring them to mark this significant year with remarkable achievements in the country’s history.

In an article titled “Widely Distributed Digital Propaganda Content Viewer 1.0,” Rodong Sinmun reported that North Korea is developing digital content for propaganda to strengthen ideological education.

The newspaper stated that the General Publishing Technology Office of the Workers’ Party recently developed and widely distributed the propaganda viewer program “Propaganda Content Viewer 1.0,” which vividly illustrates the Party’s glorious history of struggle. It noted that this program includes a collection of propaganda posters depicting the Party’s history and policies from the anti-Japanese armed struggle to the present.

The propaganda viewer consists of four thematic sections, each presenting the Party’s policies and the achievements of its leaders in a propaganda format based on different historical periods.

This program enables users to appreciate the creative techniques and forms of propaganda visually, allowing searches by time period and creator. It will be distributed through the national data communication network’s “Chongseo” site.

The distribution of the digital viewer appears to reflect North Korea’s shift in propaganda methods to adapt to the rising use of digital technology, moving away from traditional posters and printed materials to strengthen ideological campaigns.

Rodong Sinmun previously reported in March 2022 that Kim Jong Un emphasized the need to incorporate the latest scientific and technological advancements into propaganda work and to develop new and modern methods and means.
