On Wednesday, Kim Jong Un made his entrance at the parade venue in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, marking the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Dressed in a formal suit, Kim exited his official vehicle and walked along the red carpet into the parade grounds.

He exchanged greetings and handshakes with Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan, who were there to welcome him.

Kim’s daughter, Kim Ju-ae, who had arrived with him in Beijing the previous day by private train, did not accompany him to the parade event.

The ceremony is scheduled to last 70 minutes, starting at 9:00 a.m. President Xi is expected to oversee the event from atop the Tiananmen Gate, with Kim positioned to his left and Russian President Vladimir Putin anticipated to stand on his right.
