Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, in commemoration of North Korea’s founding day (September 9).

The Rodong Sinmun published the full text of Medvedev’s message on its second page. Medvedev extended his sincere congratulations on the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, emphasizing the symbolic significance of the Soviet Union being the first to recognize the new state on the Korean Peninsula.

He noted that since then, the Republic has firmly secured its position as a powerful sovereign state. Further noting that under Kim’s leadership, the country has demonstrated remarkable resilience against external threats and made constructive contributions to Asian security.

The front page lauded the glorious 80-year history of revolutionary leadership by the great Workers’ Party of Korea, hailing it as a brilliant victory for the party’s intellectual policy. The paper highlighted that the Workers’ Party of Korea is unique in recognizing intellectuals as a fundamental revolutionary force from the outset, incorporating a pen symbol alongside the hammer and sickle in its emblem.

Page 3 reported on the Sinyang County Party Committee’s efforts to develop local industry. The committee is focusing on establishing raw material bases, training skilled workers, and constructing modern factories. They have already secured over a hundred tons of raw materials for food production.

The fourth page covered various development projects, including the completion of target equipment production in North Hwanghae Province, the opening of a greenhouse farm complex in Sinuiju, North Pyongan Province, and the modernization of a potato processing plant in Taehongdan County. The paper noted that party officials, recognizing that mobilizing the collective mental strength of the masses is key to innovation, have embedded themselves in worksites to conduct frontline political work.

Page 5 announced the opening of a new zoo in Kanggye City, Jagang Province. The paper praised it as a testament to the party’s warm care for the people and predicted it would greatly enrich the cultural and emotional lives of local workers.

The sixth page criticized neoliberalism, arguing that its negative consequences have plunged capitalist societies into an unmanageable political and economic crisis, exacerbating social contradictions. The newspaper asserted that capitalism is revealing its true nature, treading a twilight path toward decline and collapse, burdened by increasingly severe internal contradictions and crises amid changing times.
