The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party, emphasized on September 13 that General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s authority embodies the dignity and stature of a powerful Korea, underlining the nation’s position as a nuclear-armed state.

In a front-page article titled, The Absolute Authority of Comrade General Secretary is the Dignity and Status of a Powerful Korea, the newspaper asserted that the leader personifies the status, destiny, and collective well-being of a robust nation. It claimed that Kim’s unmatched leadership has firmly secured the country’s strategic standing on the global stage and cemented its irreversible status as a nuclear power.

The paper also commended Kim’s recent diplomatic endeavors, including his participation in China’s 80th Victory Day celebrations, asserting that through his astute diplomatic strategies and vigorous foreign engagements, he has reshaped the global political landscape with Korea at its center. On the same page, it reported on a loyalty pledge ceremony held by members of the social security apparatus at Paektu Mountain on September 12, dedicated to Kim.

Page 2 featured reactions from those attending the regime’s 77th founding anniversary celebrations who took photographs with Kim. They expressed that the experience continues to evoke deep emotions and resonates profoundly with the people. The newspaper also highlighted Kim’s 2015 visit to the renovated Mangyongdae Children’s Palace, during which he ordered the creation of an explanatory diagram for the Unha-3 satellite launch vehicle model.

On the third page, the film “Ordinary Person” was introduced, emphasizing the patriotic duty of Party members. It warned against bureaucratic tendencies, urging members to lead by example and work directly with the masses.

Page 4 focused on the Increased Production and Savings Campaign, showcasing the rear-base construction at Sinuiju University of Technology. The university reported success in operating integrated facilities for fish farming, mushroom cultivation, livestock rearing, and vegetable greenhouse production.

The fifth page alerted residents to the growing risk of forest fires, urging constant vigilance. It promoted fire prevention technologies and stressed the importance of comprehensive measures to mitigate wildfire damage.

On the sixth page, a commentary from the Korean Central News Agency criticized the trilateral cooperation among the U.S., South Korea, and Japan. The paper denounced the upcoming Iron Mace nuclear and conventional integrated tabletop exercise (CNI TTX), scheduled from Monday to Friday, accusing the three nations of perpetuating outdated military alliances despite recent leadership changes.
