Vieworks, a leading provider of medical and industrial imaging solutions, unveiled its next-generation machine vision technologies at the Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition (AW 2026). The event took place from Wednesday to Friday at Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul’s Samseong district, as announced by the company on Thursday.

At the Korea Vision Show within the exhibition, Vieworks showcased a comprehensive array of 31 product solutions, including their advanced line scan and area scan cameras, along with industrial lenses. The company also delivered a presentation on cutting-edge machine vision applications based on a 100Gbps CoaXPress-over-Fiber (COF) interface during the 2026 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine Vision Technology Seminar.

Vieworks highlighted two key solutions leveraging the COF interface. The first, a High-Sensitivity BSI Wide View Imaging Solution, incorporates a back-illuminated sensor (BSI) that boosts sensitivity by approximately 1.8 times compared to conventional models.

This innovative system can simultaneously capture images in both bright and dark field settings with a single scan, detecting minute defects as small as 0.35 micrometers – a fraction of a human hair’s width.

To enhance inspection reliability, the solution features real-time auto-focus capabilities, even during ultra-high-speed scanning.

The second offering, a High-Speed Multimode Imaging Solution, can acquire images under four distinct lighting conditions in one scan. Supporting a maximum resolution of 0.3 micrometers, it’s optimized for collecting multi-condition data to improve AI’s complex defect identification abilities, significantly boosting efficiency in challenging inspection processes.

These advancements position Vieworks’ solutions for rapid adoption across the ultra-precision manufacturing sector, including display panel inspection (AOI), printed circuit board (PCB) production, and three dimensional (3D) measurements in semiconductor packaging.

Kwon Hyuk-hoon, Director of Vieworks’ Optical Imaging Division, emphasized that rapidly acquiring and reliably transmitting vast amounts of diverse image data is crucial for maximizing AI image processing performance. Leveraging the COF interface’s superior data processing capabilities, it aims to spearhead market growth in various industries, from 3D and robotic vision to semiconductor wafer inspection.

The AW 2026 marks the 37th iteration of this smart manufacturing technology showcase, anticipated to draw approximately 80,000 visitors and feature exhibits from 500 global companies this year.
