Neurophet, an artificial intelligence (AI) company specializing in brain disease diagnostics and treatment, announced on Tuesady that its Alzheimer’s treatment prescription support solution, Neurophet AQUA AD Plus, has been designated as an innovative product by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy for the first half of 2026.
The innovative product designation system is designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises whose products have been recognized for their public value and technological innovation based on government research and development (R&D) outcomes. Designated products can secure contracts with public institutions for up to six years and benefit from various public procurement support measures, including a purchasing target system for innovative products.
Neurophet AQUA AD Plus, now recognized as an innovative product, is an AI-powered brain imaging analysis software. It quantitatively analyzes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) scans to support the entire Alzheimer’s treatment process, from assessing prescription eligibility to monitoring side effects and analyzing therapeutic outcomes.
With this designation, Neurophet expects improved access to public procurement markets, including federal agencies, local governments, and public healthcare institutions. The company believes this will help establish a stable revenue stream, particularly in sectors like public healthcare and national health screenings, where products are often used long-term after implementation.
Co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bin Jin-Kyul said that they’re seeing growing demand for Neurophet AQUA AD Plus among medical institutions for Alzheimer’s medication imaging analysis. This innovative product designation will allow them to bolster the public healthcare initiatives and contribute more effectively to dementia patient care.
Neurophet, founded in 2016, specializes in developing brain disease solutions. Co-founders Jin and Kim Dong-Hyun established the company after developing next-generation neuro-navigation systems at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST).
The company’s product line includes Neurophet AQUA for brain neurodegeneration imaging analysis, Neurophet AQUA AD for prescription and treatment effect/side effect monitoring, Neurophet SCALE PET for quantitative PET imaging analysis, Neurophet tES LAB for transcranial electrical stimulation treatment planning, and Neurophet innk, a transcranial electrical stimulation device.
