The Arts Council Korea (ARKO) has proven its prowess in environmental, social and governance (ESG) management by securing top ratings in prestigious evaluations both domestically and internationally.
ARKO announced on Monday that its 2025 Sustainability Management Report clinched the Platinum award in the nonprofit category at the recent League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) Vision Awards. This achievement follows its earlier success with the Global Standard Management Award (GSMA) for its inaugural 2024 Sustainability Management Report, marking two consecutive years of dominating major domestic and international awards.
The 2024/25 Vision Awards, organized by LACP, a renowned global organization of public relations and communication professionals established in 2021, saw participation from over 1,000 institutions worldwide. ARKO secured the top prize with an impressive score of 99 out of 100. Notably, it achieved perfect scores in seven out of eight evaluation categories, including first impression, cover design, and message clarity. The organization was also honored with a Technical Achievement Award for its excellence in report preparation.
An ARKO spokesperson confirmed that while there was no separate award ceremony, they received the award notification via email on February 16, along with the award certificate.
Jeong Byeong-guk, ARKO’s chairman, stated that achieving this global recognition for two consecutive years, starting from the first published report, is a testament to ARKO’s ESG management efforts being acknowledged on a global scale. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to making ESG management a core value in its operations, aiming to spearhead the spread of sustainable values throughout the cultural and artistic ecosystem, in line with the government’s push for strengthened ESG management in public institutions.
