North Korea has emphasized its internal cohesion by highlighting achievements in expanding cement production to meet large-scale construction demands.

On March 28, the Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported that the Sangwon Cement Complex has maintained an average daily production rate of 115% since the 9th Party Congress.

Quoting Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, the article stated that the drive to fulfill the country’s core responsibilities, safeguard the party and system, and lead national development has become a significant source of strength for the party.

The report indicates that the complex is simultaneously improving production processes and implementing technological innovations to accomplish tasks set after the Party Congress. It is boosting productivity through increased equipment utilization rates and enhanced raw material quality.

The newspaper noted that raw material and fuel supply sectors, including the Samchong Mine, Hwacheon Coal Mine, and Sangwon Limestone Mine, are expanding production through improved extraction methods, equipment modernization, and technological advancements.

The article emphasized ongoing successes across preliminary processes, with some mines achieving over 120% of planned production or recording a 1.4-fold increase in output.

Production sectors, such as the central control room, calcination workshop, and cement workshop, are consistently increasing output through optimized equipment operation and strengthened process management.

The newspaper portrayed these achievements as the result of a determined effort to implement the Party’s construction plans, underscoring that expanded cement production is crucial for national construction projects.

Recently, North Korea has been promoting cement production as a key indicator while pursuing local development policies and large-scale construction projects, intensively publicizing achievements in related industries.
