SNT Dynamics said on April 14 that it has obtained a U.S. Department of Defense-recognized cybersecurity certification, a key requirement for participating in U.S. defense contracts, becoming the first South Korean defense firm to do so.

The certification is the Lead Certified CMMC Assessor (Lead CCA), a top-tier credential under the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program. The qualification was obtained by Jung Ki-yeol, head of the company’s information security team and chief information security officer (CISO).

The Lead CCA credential authorizes experts to oversee assessments and certifications under the CMMC framework, which serves as a core cybersecurity standard for companies working with the U.S. military. The certification is considered highly selective, with only a limited number of holders worldwide. Outside the United States, only a handful of individuals — including two in South Korea, one in Canada, and one in Sweden — have earned the qualification.

Industry observers said the achievement highlights SNT Dynamics’ cybersecurity expertise and leadership in the defense sector, both domestically and globally.

Jung said the company plans to further strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities as a defense contractor through certifications such as CMMC, adding that it will actively pursue global marketing for mass production and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) exports of key components used in U.S. military systems.
