Samsung Medical Center’s English-language website has won a Winner award in the Website category at the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious international design competitions.
Established in 1955 by Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, the Red Dot Design Award is widely recognized as one of the world’s top three design awards, alongside the iF Design Award and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
The competition honors excellence across three categories: Product Design, Design Concept, and Brands & Communication Design. The Brands & Communication Design category evaluates creativity, design quality, and the effectiveness of brand communication.
Samsung Medical Center said its English website was recognized for its user-centered information architecture tailored to international patients, strong brand communication, and high-quality visual design.
The hospital relaunched the website in November 2025, redesigning it around the patient journey for overseas visitors. It features a reorganized Health Library focused on key medical conditions and integrates department information, physician profiles, and educational resources to help users navigate seamlessly.
The hospital also overhauled its International Patient Services section. Information for outpatient visits and hospital admissions was separated into dedicated menus, replacing a single information-heavy page with a step-by-step navigation structure. The interface was redesigned to accommodate differences in language, culture, and healthcare systems, making it more intuitive for international users.
According to the hospital, the website now attracts visitors from countries including the United States, Singapore, India, and China, establishing itself as a key information platform for overseas patients.
“This award reflects the collaborative efforts of multiple departments involved in redesigning our English website,” said Lee Jeong-eon, director of External Affairs and professor of breast surgery at Samsung Medical Center. “We will continue enhancing our digital platform to effectively communicate Samsung Medical Center’s medical expertise to international patients and healthcare professionals through a globally optimized online experience.”
Samsung Medical Center previously won the Grand Prize at the Asia Brand Prize 2022 for its brand design based on the slogan, “Care Together, Happiness Together.”
