North Korea has been encouraging its people to dedicate themselves to the nation in gratitude for the recent surge of new houses in different locations such as Rimhun Street and Junwi Street in Pyongyang, calling it a housewarming season.
In an article titled “Let’s Repay the Great Grace of our Mother Party with Patriotic Dedication,” published on May 24, Rodong Sinmun stated, “What a wonderful era we are living in, a blessed time.” The media highlighted the achievements of rural communities being built in Rimhun Street, Junwi Street in Pyongyang, and other places across the country. The outlet emphasized, “How many extraordinary creations have revealed their dazzling beauty this year alone?” and “The grace of the Party grows day by day.”
They also encouraged people to repay the Party’s grace with patriotic dedication, stating, “To repay love and kindness is a human duty.”
The media repeatedly emphasized that repayment is a “human duty,” warning, “Can one be said to know duty if one forgets even a bit of the grace received as time passes, or if one becomes accustomed to receiving grace and takes it for granted?” It further urged, “Especially in times of national hardship, that feeling should become even stronger,” further continuing, “Now is not the time to merely express gratitude for the Party’s grace in words and songs, but to repay it with sincere sweat, conscience, and patriotic actions.”
In another article, the media reported that workers who have been assigned new homes are actively demonstrating “patriotic actions” to repay this, stating, “The heat of loyalty and patriotism is growing hotter with the housewarming season.”
Since last month, North Korea appears to have actively utilized its concentrated achievements in housing construction as a “people-loving policy,” encouraging patriotism and solidarity among residents.
Recently, there has been a continuous mobilization of female labor. The media also reported that many women around the country contribute to the nation’s resurgence and development by volunteering in important sectors such as coal mining, agriculture, and chemical industries.
